The Unvanquished

“The Unvanquished” was an attempt to throw out into the open the questions that have gripped me for some time noticing how some people act. It’s about believing in something so fervently that all other opinions are tossed away because of a close-mindedness that hardens over time with stubbornness, ambition, or arrogance. Though full of many open-ended questions, I hope that an answer can follow. It’s amazing what lengths people will take for a belief.

Lyrics

The Unvanquished — Larry Hong

You were calling out my name with trumpet close at hand
Beckoning for me to come with spears of blunt demand
You were thinking in your mind the coming of an end
Was it hard to counteract the act which self defends?

Will you fight to win
For all that’s good?
Will you pine for sin
Misunderstood?

Come and join the war
And lose yourself once more

You were forced to start the spark with crude absurdity
Fueling lies and loaded words with empty guarantees
You were trying hard to follow what you have pursued
Has the king so fallen that you don’t know what to do?

Will you let me fall
So you can see?
Will you give it all
For vanity?

Come and join the war
And lose yourself once more

Will you fight to win
For vanity?
Will you pine for sin
So you can see?
Will you let me fall
For all that’s good?
Will you give it all
Misunderstood?

Come and join the war
Come and join the war
